QF Adjustable Nipple With O-Ring

The Quick-Fit Adjustable Nipple comes with an O-Ring, and together they are used as an adjustable sleeve to provide variable length adjustments in QF straight pipe. Using this nipple, any straight pipe length can be attained using a number of QF Pipes clamped together with the adjustment nipple.

The Quick-Fit (QF) Adjustable Nipple is an adjustable sleeve, made at a slightly larger diameter than QF pipe and is used to provide variable length adjustments in straight pipe.

For example, if a 2 foot piece of pipe is needed, the pipe is cut slightly shorter than 2 feet. The adjustable nipple then slides over the pipe, and, using the O-ring, is clamped at the spot to make the whole assembly 2 feet in length. Using this technique, any straight pipe length can be attained by using any number of pipes along with the QF Adjustable Nipple.

Like the QF Pipes, nipples have rolled ends and are laser welded, and are manufactured as follows:

  • With Galvanized or Stainless steel metal (optionally with Powder Coated carbon steel), in 20 gauge to 22 gauge metal thickness (optionally with 18 gauge or 16 gauge metal)
  • Diameters from 3 inches to 24 inches
  • A Black Nitrile (buna-N, NBR) O-ring is included as standard, with Red Silicone O-rings Optional for high temperature applications

QF Adjustable Nipples come in standard lengths of approximately 11 inches. Short QF Adjustable Nipples are also available, at a length of 6 inches, for short straight pipe runs between 6 inches and 11 inches in length.

NOTES:
  1. At temperatures ranging between 390° F and 480° F, the zinc-iron alloy layers in the galvanized steel will continue to provide a high level of protection from corrosion. However, there may be some peeling, changes in mechanical properties, and reduction in the corrosion protection. Recommended maximum service temperature is 390° F.
  2. For 304 SS metal, bluing may occur at temperatures of 800° F and above.
